Organic Community Garden at the Penrose Strawbridge House
We have a small organic community garden at the Penrose Strawbridge House than we cultivate from the spring into the fall.
The end of March is time to start planting our vegetable and flower gardens. We tilled the field in the fall and added good compost, and will till it again in April.
We will then plant early vegetables such as lettuce, broccoli, peas and chard.
Any HPHA member can plant their own little farm or just come out and help. Please Contact Us if you'd like to join head gardener Marion Heckler and be a farmer and grow your own delicious, organic produce.
What's New in the Garden
We're getting the organic garden ready for the 2013 growing season...
and we may be having a full scale organic farm here at the Penrose Strawbridge House soon. Stay tuned for more news
