Horsham Historic 5K and Hike

Our 1st Historic 5k in July 2011 was a big success so we're gonna do it again in 2012.

Runners race up Keith Valley Road, past (not able to go through this year ) the Kenderdine House and Mill property, over the bridge and up Davis Grove Road, through the packed paths in Deep Meadow Park and Carpenter Parks, then back down Keith Valley Road to Governor's Road.

Runners go past a number of historic homes including the Kenderdine House, Kenderdine Mill, Shea, Mortimer, Milford, and Murphy Houses along Davis Grove Rd, plus the Keith House at Graeme Park and, of course, the Pennrose-Strawbridge House.

Details

Location/Registration - The race begins at the intersection of Governor Road and Keith Valley Road (just before the stone bridge over Park Creek). Registration/Number pickup is at the Penrose Strawbridge House at 900 Governor Road.

Directions/Map - The map to the right shows the location of the Penrose Strawbridge House at 900 Governor Rd. This is located in Strawbridge Park which is adjacent to Graeme Park. There is no signage for Strawbridge Park.

The entrance to Governor Rd at Keith Valley Road will not be open to cars prior to the race so you will need to enter Graeme Park from County Line Road. The address for Graeme Park is 859 County Line Rd, Horsham PA 19044 (map). (40.218405,-75.150261) The address may not show up correctly on maps

The entrance to Graeme Park takes you down a long driveway with parking at the end. The Penrose Strawbridge House is the big white building with yellow shutters to the left up the gravel driveway. (This is all shown on the race map above).

Course - wheel measured course. See 8 historic buildings along the course including the Kenderdine Mill (National Register). Run through Deep Meadow and Carpenter Parks on packed trails.

Amenities T-shirt to all pre-registrants. Refreshments at the finish, indoor and outdoor toilet facilities. Free on-site parking, time clock at finish and instant results. Held rain or shine. No refunds or mailed awards. Results on pretzelcitysports.com.

Awards We will be awarding medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in age groups: <15, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.
